Welcome to M.A. Hastings Poetry
I’m glad you’ve stopped by. I hope you’ll stay awhile and enjoy this collection of hope, love and grace delivered by rhyming rhythmic poetry. Every Thursday, you get a poem directly to your inbox for you to savor, to think about throughout your day. Poems may also be added for your enjoyment more than once a week during holiday seasons, special occasions or Awareness Months. December featured poems about the peace, hope, joy and love of Advent. February is Black History month. April is about two of my favorite things: It’s poetry and pickleball month.
Each poem will also be read by the fabulous voice actor, Glad Klassen. Starting in January 2024, the occasional Poetry Backstories will only be available to paid subscribers. If you need an audio version of either the poem or the Poetry Backstories because of a visual impairment but can’t swing the $5 a month for a paid subscription, please email me at mahastingspoetry@gmail.com with your request. I will be happy to give you access to the audio version.
You can also earn paid status by sharing.
If there’s a particular poem that you’ve enjoyed, you can Buy Me a Coffee and share a comment.

Why subscribe?
My regular newsletter post each week, with the ability to comment on my posts.
An exclusive post called “Poetry Backstories”. You get the scoop, the backstory of the poem and/or the accompanying photo or artwork of the poem posted occasionally.
You have the opportunity to partner with me in making my poems visually accessible. Chances are, you were able to decide whether you wanted to read this week’s poem or to listen to Glad Klassen read it. Our blind friends can’t see to read the words themselves. Without your support, they are also stuck with listening to the yang-yangy electronic voice doing a poor job of reading the poem. That is, except for paid subscribers. Paid subscribers pay for a real voice read of the poems for those who can’t read the poems for themselves. Please show this kind of love for our brothers and sisters who are blind by becoming a paid subscriber, now.
A way for people who appreciate my poetry to support my work.
