Because of Who They Loved

It was several suns and moons ago

that I drove many to and then fro

To medical appointments

or to pay bills

Sometimes they were well

but most times very ill

Their suffering source

not resolved with a pill.

It wasn’t the HIV/AIDS

but so very much more

that wrecked their psyches

And made their souls sore.
