Neighborly Gratitude

Maple tongues wag in the freeze

of the breeze just before they fall 

Calling us to gaze amazed as we gather all.

Thanks be to the country that tops 

the U.S. for carrying on calm

Where maple leaves reign

over live oaks and palms.

You bring to your southern neighbors 

not just sweet maple

But the savor of…
